United Nations Global Compact
We are a proud signatory to the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. It encourages organisations to do business responsibly and to take strategic actions to advance broader societal goals. Underpinning the programme is a global call to organisations and businesses to align strategies and operations with ten principles on human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.

Communication on progress
We publish an annual communication on our progress to advancing the ten UN Global Compact principles throughout our global activities, enhance positive impacts and reduce areas of negative impact – for example, cutting our environmental footprint from paper use.
We take our commitment to people and planet seriously and by reporting in this way, we want to make our journey towards becoming a more sustainable organisation transparent for our people, learners and communities. Being a signatory to the UN Global Compact guides us in continually reducing our environmental impact and improving diversity, inclusion and equality in our organisation, in our supply chains and in education and research around the world.
The SDG Publishers Compact
We believe that education is the most powerful long-term solution to poverty, conflict and many of the issues facing the world today. We are a signatory to the SDG Publishers Compact and we align our work to increase knowledge and understanding of sustainability issues. Publishing research and educational materials with the UN Sustainable Development Goals in mind, can make us an even more effective agent for global change.
